Directions to Turn off Avast Mail Shield

Every version of Avast comes with an email shield that comprehensively checks all your incoming and outgoing emails for any suspicious thing. The main purpose of Avast Mail Shield is to keep your inbox away from spam and phishing emails. But if you think that this Mail Shield is preventing legitimate emails from your clients or stopping you from sending emails then you can disable Avast Mail Shield.

• Double-click the Avast icon from your system desktop or system tray to launch the program.

• Click Settings from the left pane.

• In Avast Settings window, click “Active Protection” tab to view all its components.

• Click the On button next to the Mail Shield and then select “Stop Permanently”.

Alternatively, you can also choose to select the component temporarily, select the appropriate option as per your requirement.

• Then click OK to close Avast antivirus window.

• On Avast main window, you will see words saying “You are unprotected” with a red background near the top of the window.
